Can you guess what cuisine does City Pocha serves ??

yeah, Korean BBQ
I reckon I kinda fancy Korean food lately. PRobably because of the spiciness and the sourness of the KimChi ? or perhaps maybe they have bbq-ed stuff ![]()
City Pocha’s a Korean BBQ restaurant located at Goulburn St, opposite World Square. It stands out from the rest of the shops there’s bamboo sticks lined along the exterior wall, with danging paper lanterns. First look, it’s either a Japanese or a Korean place-to-eat.

But seriously becareful of the bamboo sticks, cause it fell down!! like hard *boomm* luckily it hit no one. Only some soup were spilled. *phew* Thank goodness we we’rent sitting at the table (on the left)

And so we all know that Korean appetizers are being served (for free, and refillable) I think, in terms of variety, the korean restaurants here in Sydney gives lesser servings than the ones in Malaysia. The places I’ve been to only gives like 3 or 4 dishes, like kimchi, fish cakes, potato, and peas n corns. In M’sia, we have extra stuffs like ikan bilis, some veges, and sometimes other weird stuffs (oh I can’t really remember. haha)

Spicy Baby Octopus and Chicken with Cheese on Hot Plate $30
This is best eaten while its sizzling hot. It’s baby octopus and some chicken with a sweeter type of kimchi, perhaps maybe a ketchup base sauce, with lotsa onions and sping onions. As u can see, there were LOTS OF CHEESE hanging there. nice. It was good.. but not GGRREEAATTT

Then we had a BBQ Marinated Juicy Pork Ribs $30. It’s enough for two usually.
This one’s nice with the sauce. It’s like em…. BBQ ! *duh* IT IS barbeque!! *note : obviously the pork in the pic pic above is still raw* It’s being Q-ed at the grill with some charcoal (first pic on top)

Sliced Pork Belly and Sour Kim Chi on Hot Plate $30
U know, this version of pork belly wasn’t what I tought it was. My version of pork belly is the REAL pork belly, used for soup. u know the peppery sliced pork belly soup ? omg like I seriously adore that soup. HAHA, but I don’t think I can find the pork belly here, can I? And the ones used in Bah Kut Teh with Pig’s Intestine. oooo yummmyy. Uh but anyway, this pork belly looks like the one used to make Siu Yuk (Roasted Pork slices). But it was good anyway. But I think I prefer the Ribs

Haemul-Tang (Combination Spicy Seafood Soup in Hotpot) $50.
Serious, NO JOKE. there really IS A WHOLE FISH in it!! with mussles, crabs, squids, prawns and tofu with lotsa spring onions. We kinda had a hard time eating the fish, cause.. it’s in a Hot Pot swimming with the soup! But nevertheless it was quite good. I like the soup, it’s spicy but not too spicy, and the prawn was really sweet. It must have been the soup
Overall, it wasquite a nice place to eat at. The waiters were quite attentive and quick. Thats cause we there’s a button on the table to press if u need any help. Only thing is, becareful of the bamboos at the entrance, cause one of them fell.. But I dont think I’ll go back again cause there’s still like, millions of other restaurants to visit here in Sydney.
