The Little Snail

Located at Pyrmont,this restaurant offers set lunches of entree, main and dessert for $25 and set dinner at $45.

We went to this restaurant for Sherry’s birthday. So, expect some few amount of dishes cause there were 9 of us

Entrees

Snail in shells in garlic butter. I was uterly disappointed with this dish. I mean, as the name of the restaurant suggest, this would be a fairly recommended dish, but I was wrong. three of us ordered this dish, 1 came out good, 2 were bad. Garlic were burnt, too oily and too salty *shakes*

Duck Liver pate flavoured with brandy. This one was good! bread was toasted well, duck liver pate was abit sweet and the texture was fine. At some point, it reminded me of eating lemon sandwich crackers or something. hehe

Garlic butter. lotsa butter, was slightly too soft for my liking

Beer battered scallops with antipasto sauce. sauce was good, scallop was nice and juicy. Yeah, pretty nice

Mains…

Duck breast grilled finished in orange grand marnier sauce. Yeah.pretty good, sweet and ducky. the meat was just nice, not too hard.

Salmon fillet grilled with asian scented dressing. Yeah the salmon was juicy and nice, but the sauce was just so-so. and presentation was booooo. bad

whole river trout, roasted and served with dill and lemon sauce. Didn’t try this, was way the other end of the table.

Kangaroo fillet grilled and served rare with a native sweet plum sauce. This was my dish and I was quite happy with my order. Its my first time eating kangaroo meat and I was quite skeptical about it cause it’s served rare. First time eating, and rare ??!! I must be out of my mind eh? But yeah it was surprisingly sweet, must be the plum sauce. And the meat was em.. yeah, It’s more tender than eating medium rare beef.. Yeah, so, pretty good

Beef Chasseur with bacon, onion and mushroom sauce. This one was ……. beef.. yeah beef

Desserts

Baked honey and passionfruit cheescake. Yeah this one was quite ok, but honey cheesecake’s not my type. I can’t really get the idea of honey and cheesecake together.
