Korean Pancake

I was roaming around BangsarVillage the other day and found the Korean Pancake Mix, and other korean / japanese food. Which is actually quite good because I miss the korean and japanese food (and thai) in sydney. I bought a packet so my family could try it.

It’s very easy to make since its a pancake mix. By means, you just add the required amount of water and other ingredients of you choice.

If you use 200g flour (which serves about 4 people, and half of the packet) use about 300ml of water for the batter. Use about 800ml of water for a whole packet of mix (about 500g). Then add in ingredients of your choice. For me, I added chives, carrots, cabbage, fresh chilli and shrimps (peeled). You can also add kimchi, squid or crab meat. When batter is ready, heat the pan with some oil. Pour in batter and let it cook for maybe about 2-3 minutes on each side. Make sure the pancake is not too thick other wise it will taste abit soggy in the middle.

Serve with dipping sauce.

Looks good! How does the pancake mix package looks like?

Looks a bit like cucur udang haha!

Hi viv, mmm I forgot to take the pic of the package but you can try google. It’s yellow, slightly smaller than A4 in size and has a picture of pancake.

Hi unig, Well, if i’m not mistaken, cucur udang is more roundish. Maybe it looks like the flat prawn fritter that goes with rojak.

The pankcake looks delicious, once again thanks for the great post. I will be checking back daily, this is a great BLOG.

Mine always come out mushy but I think I’ve figured out why - I use too much oil.
