What has FOOD done to me
Really, you wouldnt be reading the About page of *newborn* pastry chef and a gourmand any different from other foodbloggers out there. So, check, another foodblogger on the ever expanding list.
The birth of this blog was actually like a rebirth of my older foodblog which I started in end of 2005. Then a month upon arriving Sydney, I re-archived the entire old-foodblog here and started anew. (that would probably be around June 2006) Ah, quite a newbie huh ?
For me, I guess making food (be it preparing a massive meal to impress, or cooking just for one or two, or even, just to join a foodblogging event) has changed me alot, physically and mentally. Cooking is never easy, neither baking. (But then again, nothing in life is easy) It all comes to one’s passion and enthusiasm in doing something, and when you succeed, the moment of satisfaction beats anything else. When you do something you love, never think of stopping nor giving up and put a 100% to it, I believe the result will be brilliant. And what has changed me physically ? Gaining weight of course!
Oh, also not forgetting about my cookbook addiction. One day, I shall own a cookbook library. That would be super awesome!
What lies ahead
I might have probably grown over these years to think that at whichever position in the kitchen I’m working in, as long as I’m learning something new, I don’t really care. In this food industry where it no longer is just about Jamie Oliver, new flavours and techniques are created, new technologies and tech-savy utensils are invented, and new hardcore, inspirational chefs are born. So, why stick to just one thing when there’s a million or zillion more things to learn? Which means, I guess, until I am satisfied with my skills and creativity (or the bank acc) I would still continue learning; in the kitchen or from chefs.
